Canon Healthcare USA began operations in January 2023, the latest in a long line of innovative business expansions from Canon.
In the foundations of the company’s 80-year history as a business lies its corporate DNA: a respect for humanity, an emphasis on technology, and an enterprising spirit that has been consistently passed on since its inception. This spirit and the relentless drive to distinguish itself through technology permeate the company and have continued to provide society with new advances.

Canon Medical has been responsible for countless innovations in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging including the world’s first commercial superconducting MRI in the 1980s, the first integrated CT and angiography suites for the treatment of liver cancer in the early 1990s, the world’s first wide area detector CT – Aquilion ONE – in 2007, the introduction of deep learning AI technologies to CT, MRI, and angiography systems in the 2020s leading to image quality improvements and reduced x-ray dose. These have all resulted in patient safety and improved diagnosis which would not have been considered possible by our founders. Furthermore, these breakthroughs were only made possible through partnerships and collaborations with the world’s leading scientists and clinicians.

It is in the spirit of our colleagues from the past who dedicated themselves to pushing boundaries in science, engineering, medicine - and imagination - that we embark upon building this new organization and continue to work towards future breakthroughs in the delivery of patient care.
